Ohio Biofuels Incentive Program Clean Fuels Ohio (CFO) is soliciting applications from owners of retail fuel stations to assist with installation and promotion of E85 and/or B20. Clean Fuels Ohio is administering this program, called the Ohio Biofuels Retail Incentive Program (OBRIP), on behalf of the Ohio Department of Development 's Office of Energy Efficiency (OEE). E85 is a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline that can be used by any flexible fuel vehicle (FFV). B20 is a blend of 20% biodiesel and 80% petroleum diesel that can be used by any diesel-powered vehicle or equipment. The goal of OBCIP is to increase availability of E85 and B20 motor fuels in the state of Ohio. This program was created by an Act of the Ohio General Assembly and signed by Governor Robert Taft, as part of the state budget, on July 31, 2005. OBRIP will provide up to $135,000 now through June 2006, then an additional amount by July 2006. Generally, up to $5,000 is available for E85 projects and B20 projects. Eligible expenditures include equipment and labor for converting and/or installing refueling facilities plus marketing and consumer education. The application process is straightforward. Clean Fuels Ohio will expedite consideration of all applications and funding decisions. Additional funds may be available, in conjunction with OBRIP, from various third parties, including National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition and Ohio Corn Marketing Program (OCMP) for E85 projects, and Ohio Soybean Council (OSC) for soy biodiesel projects. If you are interested in applying for incentive funding you may begin by downloading the OBRIP progam information. The next step will be to download and complete one of the application forms, linked below. Clean Fuels Ohio strongly prefers that applicants use the Microsoft Word electronic form and submit this by email to biofuels@cleanfuelsohio.org.
