On January 30th, 2009 Clean Fuels Ohio and Ohio Green Fleets officially recognized Continental Express Inc., Franklin County Board of MRDD, MedCorp Inc., WBNS 10TV, and Westerville City Schools as the first to achieve Ohio Green Fleets certification.
Achieving recognition as an Ohio Green Fleet is not easy. In order to qualify, a fleet must provide data that demonstrates measurable reductions in emissions and petroleum use. Using EPA based tools to quantify this information, fleets are designated at either a one, three, of five star level in accord with the proportion of overall emissions and petroleum use reductions they have attained. Clean Fuels Ohio and Ohio Green Fleets are proud to recognize our newest certified fleets. The following 25 fleets were designated as Ohio Green Fleets in the program's first year and recognized at an awards ceremony on August 13, 2009.
