Worthington Industries Confirmed as Midwest Green Fleets Forum Tour Sponsor

Worthington Industries has confirmed their Westerville manufacturing facility as one of the Ohio Energy Tours at the Midwest Green Fleets Forum & Expo. The tour, which will take place Monday, Sept. 26, will allow attendees to witness Worthington’s best-in-class manufacturing first-hand. In operation since 1997, the highly automated product line includes steel portable LPG cylinders, steel fork lift cylinders, refrigerant, refillable and recovery cylinders, and the newest addition of the cryogenic liquid cylinder product line. Over the past 20 years, the operation has produced over 70 million cylinders and continued to improve their position related to safety, quality, productivity, and cost.

Governor Kasich Signs House Bill 390

Clean Fuels Ohio is proud to announce that Governor Kasich signed Ohio HB 390 into law in late June. HB 390 was legislation that was amended to include the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Conversion Program which consists of $5 million for alternative fueled vehicles. This process took more than three years and we had to face difficulties in the legislative process. Certainly, some doubted that we and our members could get this done, even prior to when the Governor signed the bill. Diesel Emission Reduction Grant Announcement Set

According to the Ohio EPA, the next round of Diesel Emissions Reduction Grant (DERG) funding will be announced on August 15. Clean Fuels Ohio (CFO) recently met with Ohio EPA about modifications the agency is considering for this 2016 funding round, and we communicate with CFO members about details as we learn them. Grant funding is often a key strategy for fleets to replace current vehicles with new cleaner burning technologies. The Ohio EPA’s provides funding for the replacement or retrofit of older diesel engines with new clean diesel and alternative fuel options.
