Federal Ruling will Require Ohio to Adopt CNG Weight Limit Exemption

(Washington)—A recent ruling by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) will require that states adopt a weight limit exemption for trucks that run primarily on Compressed Natural Gas, and travel on federal highways. In 2017, Federal legislation was passed that allowed states to permit Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles to carry an additional 2,000 pounds on federal highways due to the weight of the tanks. At that time, states were not required to adopt the weight limit exemption. However, several did. Ohio adopted the exemption prior to that law going into effect. Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) Grant Update

Nissan Announces Substantial Rebates for Ohio Utility Customers

Nissan recently launched a rebate program through several Ohio utility companies for the Nissan LEAF, the company’s first series production all-electric vehicle. Customers and employees of Duke Energy, First Energy, and AEP Ohio are eligible for a $3,000 rebate off the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) on the 2018 LEAF. To receive the rebate, customers must show proof of employment or their utility bill to participating Nissan dealerships.
