2019 National Drive Electric Week Thrives in Ohio Yet Again

This year’s National Drive Electric Week took place during the week of September 14-22. The annual event focused on bringing awareness to the economic, environmental, and lifestyle benefits of driving electric and was celebrated by more than a thousand across the state of Ohio. From its humble beginnings in 2011 as “National Plug In Day,” National Drive Electric Week has expanded to include 324 events across all 50 states plus Puerto Rico as well as seven other countries. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has selected Clean Fuels Ohio (CFO) for two new awards, as prime contractor, under the recent Clean Cities Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA). In addition, the DOE announced two other winning projects on which CFO is a major sub-contractor and played significant roles in supporting development of the applications. (Columbus)—Clean Fuels Ohio named State Representative Jay Edwards (R- Nelsonville) Public Official of the Year last week for his work on Ohio’s Transportation and General operating budgets. Clean Fuels Ohio is a statewide non-profit that focuses on advanced and cleaner fuels and vehicle technologies. Edwards currently serves as the Majority Whip in the Ohio House of Representatives and on the House Finance Committee. The Finance Committee is responsible for conducting hearings on the all three of the state budgets. Clean Fuels Ohio hosted its 5th annual Midwest Green Transportation Forum & Expo on September 18 -20. Attendees from Philadelphia to Seattle and everywhere in between came to network, learn, and enjoy conversation with the expo’s 40+ exhibitors, more than 50 speakers, and approximately 350 attendees.
