Progress: Defining Our Direction After the MWGT

Dear Friends - As 2020 continues to roll on and present us with ever-changing challenges, the Clean Fuels Ohio policy shop has been hard at work to leverage the connections, conversations, and opportunities presented to us through the annual Midwest Green Transportation Forum and Expo that wrapped up just a few short weeks ago. During the conference, we covered meaningful policy topics such as: midwestern and federal policy opportunities and outlook, utility roles in EV charging, local transportation policy models and campaigns, clean transportation solutions for all, and advanced auto manufacturing and jobs of the future. All of these sessions detailed important conversations taking place w

Response to Ohio EPA’s EV Charging Solicitation Demonstrates Strength of Ohio’s Growing Market

The Ohio EPA has received nearly $4 million in funding requests in response to a recent Request for Applications (RFA) issued by the agency on July 1, 2020. The electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) solicitation closed on September 30. The RFA offered $3.25 million in total funding with $250,000 reserved for state government locations (ODOT garages, ODNR parks/lodges etc.). The response from Ohio applicants was especially strong. A similar RFA issued by another Midwestern state, considered to be one of the stronger EV markets in the region, generated less than $2 million in applications. “This tremendous response by partners in Ohio demonstrates the growing strength of our EV market,” sai

Clean Fuels Ohio Plans to Leverage Successful Conference to Drive Clean Vehicle Projects & Policies

Less than three weeks ago, Clean Fuels Ohio (CFO) wrapped up the 2020 Midwest Green Transportation Forum and Expo. The fully virtual event was uncharted territory for the organization. Rachel Ellenberger’s article in the October newsletter tells the full story. Through the rest of 2020, the focus turns to the critical work of leveraging impact on what matters – deploying advanced fuels, vehicles, technologies, charging/fueling facilities and smart mobility systems and enacting policies at all levels to o

The Forum was broken down into eight session tracks so there was something for everyone: Propane Autogas Fleets, Electric Vehicles, Natural Gas Vehicle Fleets, Fleet Management and Efficiency Best Practices, Big Pi

Drive Electric Ohio Hosts and Supports National Drive Electric Week Events

From September 26 to October 4, electric vehicle enthusiasts and groups hosted events across the country as part of the 10th annual National Drive Electric Week. While this year’s Drive Electric Week looked different than past years’, Drive Electric Ohio and its regional chapters were a part of 4 virtual and 4 socially distanced in-person events. Outdoor events were hosted in Northeast, Northwest, and Central Ohio where organizers required masks and social distancing at all times. Drive Electric Columbus held a charging demo and informational fair with over ten different electric vehicle models present.
