According to the Ohio EPA, the next round of Diesel Emissions Reduction Grant (DERG) funding will be announced on August 15. Clean Fuels Ohio (CFO) recently met with Ohio EPA about modifications the agency is considering for this 2016 funding round, and we communicate with CFO members about details as we learn them.
Grant funding is often a key strategy for fleets to replace current vehicles with new cleaner burning technologies. The Ohio EPA’s provides funding for the replacement or retrofit of older diesel engines with new clean diesel and alternative fuel options.
While some rule changes are expected, generally, the grant program helps fund replacements and repowers of public and private fleet diesel vehicles, class 6 and up. These diesel vehicles are eligible for partial to full funding (depending on vehicle type), and must operate 65% or more of the time in non-attainment Ohio counties. Clean Fuels Ohio has worked with numbers of fleets in the past, helping securing millions of dollars for the replacement and retrofit of old diesel engines with new alternative fuel and clean diesel technology.
A great way to find out more details on the next round of DERG funding will be at our upcoming Montgomery County CNG Station Lunch and Learn on July 27. This Lunch and Learn will feature programming designed by fleet managers for fleet managers, including:
